How to clean Corian cladding?

For properly maintained cladding, it is not necessary to use particularly aggressive products.

Aquavia particularly recommends hot water, mild soap, and a clean soft cloth for Corian maintenance.

For routine cleaning:

1. remove any dust;
2. dampen your soft cloth or microfiber;
3. use a little mild soap if necessary;
4. clean without excessive pressure;
5. rinse off any soap residue;
6. wipe with a clean cloth.

A few minutes are usually sufficient.

Regularity is much more effective than occasional major cleanings.

Should the cladding be cleaned often?

There is no strict schedule.

It all depends on the environment in which the spa is installed.

A spa placed under a covered terrace will obviously not be exposed to the same dirt as a spa installed in the middle of a garden.

Dust, rain, pollen, soil splashes, or handprints can gradually soil the surfaces.

The simplest approach is therefore to intervene as soon as the cladding begins to show visible marks.

A regular quick wipe with a soft cloth generally makes it very easy to maintain its beautiful appearance.

Beware of water marks

Even if Corian constitutes the exterior cladding here and not the spa's basin, it can naturally receive water splashes.

It's often the opposite.

For daily maintenance, avoid randomly using aggressive household products, solvents, strippers, or highly abrasive cleaners.

A product that is very effective on tiles or a barbecue is not necessarily a good idea for spa cladding.

In case of an unusual stain, it's best to check the product's compatibility with Solid Surface and the finish concerned before using it.

What about abrasive sponges?

For routine maintenance, a soft cloth or microfiber is sufficient.

It is true that Solid Surface has the particularity of being able, in certain situations, to be renovated using surface work techniques.

But it should certainly not be inferred that one can regularly scrub their spa with any abrasive sponge.

It is important to distinguish between two operations:

cleaning the cladding and renovating its finish.

Cleaning is routine maintenance.

Renovation is a specific intervention that must be carried out using an appropriate method.

Is a small scratch permanent?

Not necessarily.

This is precisely one of the interesting advantages of this type of material.

Depending on the finish, depth, and nature of the mark, certain superficial alterations can be mitigated or renovated.

But do not immediately attempt to sand the affected area yourself.

An improperly performed intervention could create a finish difference much more visible than the initial small scratch.

Beware of objects placed on the cladding

The wide, flat lines of a contemporary spa may tempt you to use certain surfaces as a small shelf.

A phone, glasses, a drink…

No problem with a suitable object handled normally.

But avoid placing or sliding metal, sharp, or abrasive objects.

This advice may seem obvious, but it prevents many unnecessary small marks.

And of course, also avoid placing an extremely hot object directly on the cladding.

Sun and outdoors: are precautions needed?

An outdoor spa is naturally exposed to its environment.

Sun, temperature variations, rain, dust, and humidity are part of its daily life.

The choice of a cladding material must therefore be consistent with the installation conditions specified by the manufacturer.

But even with a resistant material, regular maintenance remains the best way to maintain a beautiful finish.

It is also necessary to respect the installation and maintenance recommendations specific to the Aquavia model concerned.

Cladding and basin: two different types of maintenance

This is probably the most important point to remember.

When we talk about cleaning Corian here, we are talking about the exterior cladding of the spa.

This absolutely does not replace the usual maintenance of the basin.

The spa water must always be balanced and disinfected.

Filters must be cleaned.

The waterline must be maintained.

Pipes also require periodic maintenance.

All of this concerns the operation and hygiene of the spa.

Corian maintenance simply concerns the preservation of its exterior cladding and aesthetics.
