How to drain your hot tub.

How to easily drain your hot tub: The step-by-step guide

Regular draining is essential to maintain water quality, extend the life of your hot tub, and ensure a consistently enjoyable bathing experience. Rest assured: this operation is simple and only requires a few minutes of preparation.

Follow our guide to drain your hot tub safely.

1. Turn off the power supply

Before any intervention, completely cut off the power supply to your hot tub. This step is essential for working safely.

2. Locate the drain valve

Locate the drain valve, situated at the bottom of the tub, on the base of the hot tub.

Carefully unscrew the protective cap to access the drain fitting.

3. Connect a garden hose

Screw on a 3/4" quick connect fitting, then connect a garden hose.

Once the hose is in place, open the valve: the water will begin to flow naturally.

Tip: Direct the hose towards a suitable drainage point to avoid any flooding.

4. Let the hot tub empty

The draining time depends on the volume of your hot tub. Wait until the tub is completely empty.

This is the ideal time to prepare for cleaning the tub or checking the condition of your filter.

5. Close the drain

Once all the water has been drained:

  • Close the drain valve.

  • Disconnect the garden hose.

  • Carefully screw the protective cap back on.

Wipe off any splashes of water before putting your system back into service.

What's next?

Once your hot tub is drained, we recommend that you:

  • Clean the tub with a suitable product.

  • Rinse the surfaces with clear water.

  • Check and clean the filters.

  • Fill the hot tub with clean water.

  • Rebalance the water before reheating.

This way, your hot tub will be ready to offer you healthy and crystal-clear water for many moments of relaxation.

How often should a hot tub be drained?

As a general rule, it is advisable to perform a complete drain every 4 to 6 months, depending on the frequency of use, the number of bathers, and the quality of water maintenance.

Regular draining helps preserve the equipment and facilitates the daily maintenance of your hot tub.
