Ultraviolet Treatment
Ultraviolet Treatment: healthier water with fewer chemicals
Water maintenance is essential to fully enjoy your spa. While chlorine or bromine remain necessary for effective disinfection, certain technologies can reduce the quantity of chemicals while improving water quality.
This is the case with Ultraviolet Treatment, a UV light disinfection system developed by Aquavia Spa. This technology helps eliminate bacteria and microorganisms present in the water, while limiting the use of disinfectant products.
What is Ultraviolet Treatment?
Ultraviolet Treatment is a disinfection system that uses an ultraviolet (UV-C) lamp.
When water circulates through the filtration system, it passes in front of this lamp. UV rays neutralize a large part of the bacteria, germs, and other microorganisms present in the water, thereby improving its quality.
How does this technology work?
The operation is fully automatic.
With each filtration cycle:
- water is drawn in by the filtration system;
- it passes through the chamber equipped with the UV lamp;
- ultraviolet rays disinfect the water before it returns to the spa.
This action perfectly complements mechanical filtration and traditional chemical treatment.
The benefits of Ultraviolet Treatment
Healthier water
UV technology effectively helps eliminate bacteria and germs present in the water.
Fewer chemicals
Thanks to this complementary disinfection, it is possible to significantly reduce the consumption of chlorine or other disinfectant products. Aquavia indicates that it can achieve up to 80% reduction under the conditions specified by the manufacturer.
More comfort
A lower quantity of chemicals helps limit:
- chlorine odors;
- eye irritation;
- the feeling of dry skin after swimming.
A more environmentally friendly solution
By using fewer treatment products, you also reduce your environmental impact while simplifying the maintenance of your spa.
Does Ultraviolet Treatment replace chlorine or bromine?
No.
This is an important point.
The UV system does not completely replace chemical treatment. It acts as a disinfection supplement that helps reduce the amount of chlorine or bromine needed to maintain healthy water.
At Provence Spa, we always recommend regularly checking the pH and disinfectant level, even when the spa is equipped with UV treatment.
A technology that works with other equipment
Ultraviolet Treatment is even more effective when combined with:
- efficient filtration;
- regular filter maintenance;
- precise water quality control with Blue Connect Plus;
- good pH management.
All of this equipment helps keep the water clean, clear, and pleasant all year round.
Our opinion
At Provence Spa, we particularly appreciate this technology because it improves daily user comfort.
Ultraviolet Treatment allows you to enjoy healthier water, with fewer chlorine odors and reduced use of chemicals. It is an ideal solution for people sensitive to traditional treatments or who wish to simplify the maintenance of their spa.
